Impulsive – Rotary Only Day 2.0

The inaugural Impulsive Rotary Only Day 22 October 2022 was a huge success with over 300 rotary powered vehicles at Hampton Downs. For 2023, Impulsive Rotary Day is heading home where it all started for Jokers Wild Kustoms, joining the 2023 4 & Rotary North Island Jamboree weekend, Sunday 5 March 2023 at Manfeild. An event created on impulse and fueled by passion. Open to ALL rotary powered vehicles.

FOR 2023, ALL DRIVERS MUST PRE-REGISTER FOR IMPULSIVE ROTARY ONLY DAY 2.0. THIS WILL PUT YOU ON THE LIST (LIMITED SPACES AVAILABLE) AND YOU SIMPLY PAY $60 FOR YOUR TRACK ENTRY ON ARRIVAL (THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS FOR HELPING US KEEP COSTS DOWN FOR ANOTHER YEAR).

Your track entry gives you access to all sessions throughout the day. You can also take your kids around the track, a great day out for the entire family.

If you are NOT on the list, YES YOU CAN STILL ENTER Impulsive 2.0, track entry is $120, please arrive before 11am so you can go through safety check and drivers briefing.

NOTE: If you arrive without your car on the day, you will forfeit your track entry and will need to pay the $25 spectator fee on arrival.

NOTE: Impulsive is running on the same day as the 2023 4 & Rotary North Island Jamboree Show & Shine, track/spectator entry also gives you access to check out the Sunday activities at Jamboree.

Pass-outs will be allowed for track cars & drivers only. Drivers wristbands will allow you to leave the venue and come back if you need fuel etc.

IMPORTANT… All track entrants must go through registration, safety check and drivers briefing before going out on the track. Second drivers once inside, must attend drivers briefing and then you’ll be able to purchase your drivers wristband.

The burnouts and track activities can run all run independently so you can get the most out of the day. Timetable will be going up closer to the time.

Spectator entry is $25, with kids 10 and under free. Gates open to the public 9am-5pm. Strictly no pets or alcohol!


Features

TRACK CRUISING
Nothing beats cruising with your mates. Track Cruising/DYM (Drive Your Mates) sessions will be running throughout the day.

BURNOUT COMP
You know us Kirkwood’s love a good burnout so we will be rolling out the burnout comp info closer to the time.

ROLL RACING
Roll Racing is fun and is growing to be one of the most popular track activities. The concept is simple, you race another vehicle from a rolling start at around 40kph (50kph max), the vehicle on the right sets the pace and if you’re on the left, keep up and once the light goes green, it’s a race until the checkered flag. Check out the safety requirements below.

CLEAN UP BAY
The Meguiar’s NZ Clean Up Bay at Impulsive Rotary Only Day. There will be some Meguiar’s product available to use at no cost for registered entrant vehicles. To take advantage of this offer, simply create a social media post/story with the hashtags #meguiarsnz #impulsivenz and/or tag Meguiar’s NZ and Impulsive Rotary Only Day socials for a repost/share. The Meguiar’s Clean Up Bay will be opened for a few hours.

SHOW & SHINE
The Impulsive Rotary Only Day SHOW & SHINE thanks to 4 & Rotary Promotions “OFFICIAL”. All registered entrants qualify for the Show & Shine awards + giveaways.

GRIP SESSIONS
For those that want to put their cars through it’s paces. There will be 2 sessions throughout the day. See the safety requirements below.

ROTARY PARADE
The Jokers Wild Kustoms ‘Rotary Parade’. This will take place on the 1km straight of the world famous Hampton Downs international circuit, it’s going to be EPIK!

SAFETY CHECK
WOF and rego is not required but your car must pass a quick safety check. Safety check is done once you’ve gone through registration.

Please take the time to check over your car and gear prior to the event to make sure you get out on the track without any problems. There is no hire gear available from Manfeild. Safety requirements below.

SECOND DRIVER ENTRY
Second drivers! if you have a mate that wants to drive your car around the track on the day and has your permission, they first need to attend drivers briefing, then fill out a second driver form, pay $50 (EFTPOS available) and they’ll receive a drivers wristband allowing them to partake in all the sessions, check all the safety requirements for the sessions

NOTE: Second drivers wristbands are separate to the spectator entry fee.

PASSENGER RIDES
Want to ride as a passenger at Impulsive? passenger wristbands are available for $10 (Cash preferred to speed things up) THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE YOUR GATE ENTRY FEE. You can purchase these once inside the venue, look for the passenger wristband flags.

NOTE: If you are a driver for Impulsive, you do not need to purchase a passenger wristband as long as you have your driver’s wristband.


Vehicle Safety Check

Every vehicle has to complete a basic Safety Check before you are allowed out on the track. This is for your safety, and the safety of those around you on the track. Scrutineering will take place on Sunday morning. Once your car has passed, you’ll receive your window sticker allowing your car access the track. You must then attend drivers briefing to get your drivers wristband and then you’ll be good to go.

If you miss out on registration/safety check times, you will not be allowed onto the track. No exceptions and no refunds!

All vehicles

  • Brake lights (must be in working condition)
  • Indicators (not required for dedicated track cars)
  • Legal tread on the tyres
  • Battery clamps (must be secured and not able to move, even if it’s in a battery box).
  • Fuel leaks
  • Oil leaks
  • Wheel nuts secured
  • Seat belts (a seat belt is required for all drivers and passengers out on the track. Even the vehicles from the factory without a seat belt, it should have one installed).
  • Noise limit (All tracks have noise limits and you are to obey by the track limits. If your car exceeds the limits then you will be asked to rectify this and if still persists then you won’t be allowed at the event with no refunds)
  • Firewall
  • No structural damage
  • Door cards

Extra checks for vehicles that are not road worthy e.g. dedicated drift cars, burnout cars, race cars.

  • Racesuit (All race suits must be minimum of single layer fire retardant. SFI or FIA approved.)
  • Approved helmet and footwear
  • Rollcages
  • Padding on roll cage
  • Fuel system has to be fully sealed from drivers compartment
  • Secured seats
  • No sharp objects that can cause injury
  • No major windscreen cracks
  • All cars with a modified engine must have an overflow bottle and oil catch can if one isn’t already fitted

Safety Requirements for sessions

Cruising Sessions

  • Seatbelts (No seatbelt, No track time). Even if the vehicle did not come out without seatbelt from the factory.
  • Passengers welcome
  • Enclosed Shoes
  • No neck brace is required and no race suit is required.
  • Vehicles equipped with roll cages that is in front of the driver must have padding on it.
  • If your wristband has been revoked for any reasons by the marshals, you will not be allowed on the track for that day.

Roll Racing Sessions

  • Seatbelts (No seatbelt, No track time)
  • NO passengers allowed
  • Race suit (All race suits must be minimum of single layer fire retardant. SFI or FIA approved.)
  • Motorsport helmet
  • Foam Neck Brace – For vehicles fitted with a standard lap and diagonal 3-point belt system. A foam roll/collar types is acceptable.
  • No HANS/FHR devices needed for vehicles equipped with standard lap belt.
  • For a modified vehicle with a 4 point harness or greater the requirement is fire retardant boots and fire retardant gloves.

Burnouts

  • Seatbelts (No seatbelt, No track time)
  • Enclosed Shoes
  • Race suit OR long sleeve shirt & pants
  • Motorsport helmet
  • Foam Neck Brace – For vehicles fitted with a standard lap and diagonal 3-point belt system a Foam roll/collar types is acceptable.
  • Only ONE passenger allowed for Burnouts. (Passengers must have the same safety gear as the driver).

Grip Sessions

  • Seat belts OR Harnesses
  • NO passengers allowed
  • Sessions are for both caged and non-caged cars and will be separated into short caged and non-caged sessions
  • Fire retardant enclosed shoes and gloves (Race shoes & gloves advised)
  • Race suit (All race suits must be minimum of single layer fire retardant. SFI or FIA approved.)
  • Approved Motorsport helmet
  • HANS/FHR Device – For vehicles which have a 4 point harness or greater, there are various tethered devices available including Hans, NecksGen REV, Impact Accel or Simpson Hybrid.
  • Caged race cars only with MANZ/tech inspection log book
  • For a modified vehicle with a 4 point harness or greater the requirement is fire retardant boots and fire retardant gloves.

Passengers

  • Unless approved by event staff on the day, passengers are only allowed into the cruising sessions.
  • If approved, passengers must be wearing the same safety gear as required by the driver (see above).
  • If you want to try take passengers in the Drifting Sessions, you must have a full weld in roll cage, fixed back seats and harness as well as same safety equipment as the driver.
  • Track Staff reserve the right to remove passengers if safety is an issue prior to you getting out on the track.
  • No passengers allowed for Roll Racing or grip sessions.
